Restore the image.
Preserve the memory.

Your photographs may be faded. The people and stories do not have to be. Vivid Legacy provides careful restoration for scratches, stains, tears, fading, glare, age damage, and lost visual detail.

About Vivid Legacy

Preserving photographs. Protecting the stories behind them.

Vivid Legacy is a photo restoration and preservation service built around one principle: meaningful photographs deserve careful stewardship. We restore damaged, faded, scratched, stained, blurred, and aging images while helping customers preserve them in high-resolution digital and finished print formats.

Our Mission

To restore and preserve meaningful photographs so families and communities can carry their stories forward with clarity, dignity, and care.

Our work is restoration-first. We assess the source image, document the requested outcome, preserve an untouched master when possible, perform the restoration on a working copy, provide a proof for review, and move to printing or framing only after approval.

Vivid Legacy is positioned between one-click automated photo filters and high-cost museum conservation: professional, personal, transparent, and accessible.

Business Launch Manual

The operating framework behind Vivid Legacy

The launch model is restoration-first: begin lean, outsource specialty production where appropriate, measure demand, and add premium in-house printing or framing when volume supports the investment.

1. Brand Foundation

Premium but approachable positioning between automated filters and museum conservation. Mission: preserve meaningful photographs with clarity, dignity, and care. Core values: stewardship, craft, respect, clarity, privacy, and reliability.

2. Services & Pricing

Price restoration by complexity and labor, with output charged separately. The current customer-facing pricing guide above is the working retail schedule; final quotes follow inspection.

3. Equipment & Startup Budget

Prioritize capture accuracy, calibrated display, backup, clean handling, and secure storage. Launch models: Lean $2,000–$4,000; Studio $5,000–$9,000; Premium $10,000–$18,000+. Large-format printing and framing tools are demand-driven upgrades.

4. Operating Workflow

Inquiry → intake → agreement → capture → restoration → review → proof → production → delivery → retention. Jobs use a consistent number across forms, folders, proofs, vendor orders, packaging, and payment records.

5. Quality, Privacy & File Management

Maintain an untouched source master, version working files, inspect restoration artifacts, document interpretive work, and use a 3-2-1 backup approach with restricted access and multifactor authentication. A normal retention period may be established with optional archive service.

6. Marketing & Sales

Serve families, memorial clients, genealogy groups, seniors, photographers, framers, and funeral homes. Portfolio material must be owned, public domain, or specifically authorized. Website structure: Home, Services, How It Works, Portfolio, About, Quote, and Policies.

7. Administration & Compliance

Complete name/trademark/domain review, legal structure and registration, banking, bookkeeping, seller-permit and local-license review, appropriate insurance, and professional review of customer agreements, privacy, releases, cancellation, shipping, and approvals.

8. Financial Model

Track owner labor as a real cost and measure contribution per completed order. The manual's example $169 package models $76.50 contribution before overhead and tax, or a 45% contribution margin. Replace planning assumptions with actual time and costs.

9. 90-Day Launch Plan

Days 1–15: foundation and business setup. Days 16–30: equipment, calibration, documents, portfolio, vendor testing. Days 31–60: 5–10 pilot customers and referral outreach. Days 61–90: public website/profile launch, authorized portfolio release, performance review, and in-house production decision.

10. Customer Forms

Operational forms include intake/work order, restoration authorization, estimate/change order/proof approval, physical-original custody, framing approval, delivery/closeout, optional portfolio release, privacy/retention notice, terms draft, and final quality checklist.

11. Sources & Professional Review

Before full launch, the manual calls for appropriate review by trademark and California business counsel, a tax professional, an insurance broker, and an archival professional for historically important, contaminated, mold-affected, or fragile originals.

A quote request should include a clear image of the photograph, visible damage, desired final output, deadline or event date, and your contact information. No restoration begins until the scope is reviewed and approved.
